About PROPELLER

PROPELLER is the "Patient Reported Outcomes in Practice for Enhanced LEarning and Research" Registry, and predominately collects patient outcomes in the areas of Othropaedics and related fields.

Musculoskeletal disorders present serious consequences of poor quality care, with a very high cost of burden and disease in Australia, second only to coronary heart disease. As such, they are ranked the highest on the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare’s prioritised list of clinical domains for clinical quality registry development.

The PROPELLER registry has been designed with an evidence-based approach to monitor and analyse patient outcomes specifically associated with upper limb pathology. It aims to identify patient, pathology and management factors that are associated with treatment success to optimise outcomes in patients undergoing orthopaedic treatment for upper limb musculoskeletal disorders. Findings from the registry will help inform future treatment strategies, standard practices of care and changes in health care practices, systems or policies more broadly within the field.
